John 10:13 The hired hand runs away because he’s working only for the money and doesn’t really care about the sheep.

John 10:14. “I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me.

Do you ever feel like you are just a face in a crowd or a number in a system?  You are identified by your social security number,  telephone number,  date of birth.  Even when you see the doctor, you are called by your queue number.  If you feel invisible and dehumanized, that is exactly how the devil wants you to feel,  that you do not matter to anyone,  and especially to God.  But you do matter to God!  He calls you by name.  God knows how many hairs you have on your head.   He knows exactly what you are going through and where you are hurting.  He sees you and cares for you,  just as He cared for the people when He first walked on earth.

My friends, He will do for you what He did for the woman in Samaria.  There was a shorter route from Judea to Galilee.  This is what the Bible says in John.

John 4:4 “He needed to go through Samaria”.

In other words,  Jesus deliberately took a longer route, a detour, so that He could stop by Samaria to speak to the woman who had been searching for something in her life to satisfy her.  Jesus had a mission to bring this women her much needed destiny.  Her present life was in shambles.

The woman had, five husbands and the man she was living with was not her husband.  Clearly, things had not been going right in her life.  She was most likely looking for answers to many questions, she was in need of fulfillment,  emptiness was her closest friend.  She must have felt terrible guilt and shame about her failed marriages and the current dead end relationship she was in.  She was desperate and Jesus was on His way.

Yes, in spite of all the mess,  she mattered to Jesus!  He needed to get to her.  And indeed, after she met Jesus, the perfect Son of God, she was instantly transformed.  She was no longer ashamed, immediately went into the city to tell the people about Jesus and the new life and future ahead of her.

John 4:28-29 NLT  The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did!  Could he possibly be the Messiah?”
Jesus came a long way from heaven for you, too.   Yes,  you really matter to Him. He came to give you life and life more abundantly.

John 10:10 (b) NKJ  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

You are not just a face in a crowd or a number, the devil is a big fat liar.  Jesus knows you by name and has a personal love for you.  And in spite of the mess which you may be in right now,  He wants to meet your every need and make your life beautiful!  Surrender everything today, don’t wait another day listen for His small still voice, and most importantly, answer Him.

All my love Sharon~~
